European Standard Channel Steel
Channel steel is a long steel with a grooved cross-section, a carbon structural steel for construction and machinery, and a section steel with a complex cross-section and a grooved shape.
EN 10279:2000 hot rolled steel channels specification also applies to EN 10206-1:2000, EN 10163-3:2000.
Channel steel is mainly used in building structure, curtain wall engineering, mechanical equipment and vehicle manufacturing. Except for special requirements, it is delivered in hot rolled or forged condition; when used as die steel, it is usually delivered in hot rolled, normalized, normalized plus tempered condition.
