Grade B of the ASTM A500 standard is a grade of steel used in construction and is versatile. The most common use of grade B steel pipe is in construction, where it is used to make everything from steel framing to steel beams. Its strength and durability make it ideal for structural elements such as steel framing, and its affordability makes it popular for general construction applications. Grade C steel is often used in general construction projects where grade B steel grade is also used. But grade C steel is more affordable. Grade D has a high carbon content and usually require heat treatment.

API 5CT ERW Casing Pipe

API 5CT casing pipe is used to support the oil and gas pipe wall, and to ensure the drilling process and the post-completion wells normal operation.

Casing is placed before drilling begins and completely surrounds the wellbore. Its purpose is to protect the soil layers and groundwater from contamination by drilling mud and/or frac fluids. Additionally, casing stabilizes the wellbore. Drilling and casing operations alternate – the drill string is removed at predetermined intervals and the wellbore is lined and cemented with casing.

API 5CT Tubing, OCTG Tubing

OCTG means Oil Country Tubular Goods, which refers to steel used in oil and gas extraction and production processes, including Drill pipe, Casing, Tubing, Couplings, Connections and Accessories, for the oil and gas industry on land and offshore.

API 5CT is standard technical specifications for steel casing and tubing pipes used for oil wells in petroleum and natural gas industries. Casing and Tubing is a kind of OCTG pipe.

Tubing is used to carry petroleum from the well’s depths to the surface. This is the third phase of the wellbore process. Oil and gas occasionally self-elevate to the surface; however, pumps are typically required to bring the fluids to the surface. Besides the 4 1/2-inch diameter, tubing is normally smaller in diameter than casing. Consequently, tubing must be affixed to external support structures, such as a rig or platform, in order to prevent collapse due to pressure differentials.

API 5L ERW Steel Pipe

API 5L Pipe is a carbon steel pipe as per the specification of The American Petroleum Institute, This steel pipe is produced in a welded and seamless form.

The API 5L ERW Pipe is a low-cost piping option. This pipe has high working efficiency and are very durable and it is easy to weld. So the demand of API Line pipe is increasing. They are available in nominal sizes between 1/2″ to 26″.

API 5L steel pipe is more suitable for transportation of Oil and gas, water and also petroleum liquids, API 5L carbon steel pipe is also known as black steel pipe is widely used in oil drilling purpose. API 5L pipe is produced in two types PSL1 and PSL2, Most common grades of API 5L are API 5L GRB, X42, c46, x52, x56, x60, x65, x70 and x80, API 5L grade b is more economical and fast moving material.

ASTM A53/ API 5L ERW Pre-Galvanized Steel Pipe

A pre-galvanized pipe, also known as inline galvanized pipe or continuous galvanized pipe, is a type of pipe that is made of pre-galvanized coils and strips.

This material has been pre-coated with a layer of zinc before rolling into a pipe. This coat helps to protect the pipe from corrosion and also provides a barrier against weld seam corrosion. The thickness of zinc layer of pre galvanized pipe is 40-100 g/㎡.

Pre-G.I round steel pipes are often used in construction and manufacturing applications where they are exposed to corrosive materials, including steel structures, building structures, guard rails, fences, metal furniture, solar structures, scaffolding and so on.

Production Process

The coating is applied before the pipe is welded, and the entire process is typically done in a factory setting.
First, the galvanized steel strip is cleaned and then a coat of zinc is applied. The strip is then passed through a series of rollers to form it into a pipe shape.
Next, the weld seam is created, and finally, the pipe undergoes a final spray coating of zinc. This coat helps to protect the weld seam from corrosion.
