They install deflector-up to cover specific areas and to prevent ice and debris from collecting in the head. Upright sprinklers are installed where obstructions interfere with coverage and in dry-pipe systems facing freezing temperatures.

Flanges are used to connect pipes with each other, to valves, to fittings, and to specialty items such as strainers and pressure vessels. A cover plate can be connected to create a “blind flange”. Flanges are joined by bolting, and sealing is often completed with the use of gaskets or other methods.

Flange adaptor is used in flanged pipelines such as water supply, industrial water, and sewage. It facilitates assembly and disassembly of pipeline equipments including valves, pumps, and flow meters.

Grooved Reducer is cone-shaped pipe fitting with groove connection, and it is used to join two pipes of different diameter at the same axis.

Firefighting Concentric Reducer mainly used to transport water or other liquids and to connect firefighting equipment together. Used to join two straight pieces in pipelines with a different diameter. It consists of a hollow cylindrical body with internal female thread. Based on the corresponding rules and standards, fire fittings must be painted red to make them distinct from other pipeline systems. It has good pressure resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It is UL listed, FM listed, and nationally recognized safety standards.

Mechanical tees, as part of grooved piping systems, use gaskets secured by housings to attach a new line of pipe to an existing one. The mechanical force from the bolts and nuts combined with the gasket and lubricant creates a tight seal around a hole drilled into a run of pipe. This eliminates the need to cut or disassemble pipe, potentially reducing man-hours and materials costs for something like the installation of a simple branch line.

The components of a mechanical tee
Mechanical tees have the same basic parts as grooved couplings—nuts and bolts, housings, and gaskets. In grooved couplings, the gasket fits around the circumference of the two butted pipes, and the housing holds them together end-to-end. Read our previous blog for more information on grooved piping systems. In mechanical tees, the gasket fits around the circumference of a hole drilled perpendicular (on center-line) to a pipe. The housing and its hardware secure the outlet to the drilled hole.

Mechanical tees have the following components:

An upper housing, which accepts the gasket and has an outlet
A lower housing, which secures the upper housing to the pipe
A gasket for creating a seal
Bolts and nuts

Grooved straight cross (Equal cross) has a cross shape to get its name. The branch outlet is the same size as the main outlet, and it is used to create two branch pipelines to 90 degree direction.

Grooved reducing cross with threaded branch has a cross shape to get its name. The branch outlet is threaded and the size is different from the main outlet, and it is used to create two branch pipelines to 90 degree direction.

Equal Tee (or straight tee), means the branch diameter of this tee is same with the main pipe (Run pipe) diameter of this tee. It is used to create a branch pipeline to 90 degree direction.

Grooved equal tees GT provide an economical and efficient method of changing direction and adding an outlet in piping systems.

Rigid couplings are used to connect two aligned shafts to transmit power. This coupling requires precise alignment between the shafts, otherwise considerable wear is caused to the bearings and seals. Therefore, it does not allow for movement, and is similar to a rigid flange or welded joint.
